On April 2, 2013 Professor Adam Jortner of Auburn University will give a lecture entitled “Violence and ‘Superstition’ on the American Frontier, 1810-1858.” The event will take place at 3:30 p.m. in Hoskins Library Seminar Room (217). Refreshments will be provided.


The 14th Annual Johnson Lecture will take place on March 20 at 5:00 p.m. in the Toyota Auditorium at the Howard H. Baker Center. Rob Simbeck, an award-winning author, will speak about Cornelia Fort, the history-making Nashville pilot who served during World War II as a founding member of the Women’s Auxiliary Ferrying Squadron, the first organization under the United States Army Air Forces to employ female pilots.


On October 17, 2012 Vicki Rozema gave her talk “Science and Technology Awakened: Exploiting Resources in the Cherokee Nation.”


There will be a screening of the film Theologians Under Hitler on February 20, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Remedy Coffeehouse in Old City, to be followed by a discussion by a panel of the area’s most distinguished religious leaders. For more information email info@vitalvisions.org or call 865-483-6823.
