William Adcock Hudgens (Aug. 31, 1922 – Nov. 2, 1944) was born in Davidson County, Tennessee. He attended the University of Tennessee from 1941 to 1942 for Business Administration and was in his first year when he enlisted in the Army Air Corps. He was trained at as a crew member flying B-17 bombers at Lincoln Army Airfield in Nebraska with the 273rd Base Unit Combat Crew as a corporal. His crew was just about to be deployed overseas when he was killed on November 2, 1944 after his plane crashed in Guthrie County, Iowa.
