Luther Albert “Jack” Donoho Jr. (Oct. 9, 1921 – March 23, 1943) was from Martin, Tennessee. He attended the University of Tennessee’s Junior College in Martin from 1939 to 1941 and the campus in Knoxville as part of the college of Liberal Arts from 1941 to 1942. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was selected as a 2nd Lieutenant to be a part of the Marine Air Corps after successfully completing the Navy’s primary flight training course in the summer of 1942. He was conducting advanced flight training when he was killed after his plane crashed into the Chesapeake Bay near Norfolk, Virginia. He is buried at East Side Cemetery in Martin, Tennessee and is memorialized on the Weakley County War Memorial.
