Leslie Turner Bolton (Oct. 11, 1890 – May 2, 1942) was born in Shelby County, Tennessee. He attended the University of Tennessee’s College of Medicine from 1912 until he graduated in 1917. Bolton was serving in the United States Army as a Lieutenant Colonel at the start of the war at the end of 1941. He was with the 9156th Combat Force and was in route to New Hebrides in the Pacific Theater when he was reported missing in action/lost at sea. He was a Silver Star recipient. Lt. Col. Leslie T. Bolton is memorialized on the Honolulu Memorial in Honolulu, Hawaii and at the Ward Memorial Cemetery in Shelby County, Tennessee.
