Horace J. Ford (Feb. 12, 1909 – May 7, 1944) was born in Coopertown in Roberston County, Tennessee. He grew up in Joelton in Davidson County, Tennessee and attended Joelton High School. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee’s School of Pharmacy, 1930 and worked as a pharmacist in Davidson County before the war. Ford enlisted in the United States Navy and served as a Pharmacist’s Mate Petty Officer 3rd Class (PHM3). He was stationed stateside with the United States maritime Service out of St. Petersburg, Florida. He was killed in a drowning accident on May 7, 1944. He is buried at Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville, Tennessee.
