Alan Powel Cameron (Aug. 21, 1916) was born in Montgomery, Alabama. He attended the University of Tennessee for Liberal Arts in the academic year of 1935-1936. He served as a Private in the United States Army assigned to Company A of the 124th Infantry Regiment in the 31st Infantry Division. The 31st Division was deployed to the Pacific Theater and participated in the retaking of the Philippines in 1945. Pvt. Cameron was killed in action during this campaign as the 124th Infantry was fighting in the Battle for Davao City on May 6, 1945. He is buried at Elmwood Cemetery in Memphis, Tennessee.
