Fall 2015 Newsletter

Fall 2015 Newsletter

December 9, 2015

updated-logo-2016Dear Friends of the Center for the Study of War and Society,

The Center for the Study of War and Society has just published our fall 2015 Newsletter. Below you will find a few highlights of the newsletter. The full newsletter can be accessed via the link at the bottom of this post.

HIGHLIGHTS include:

The CSWS and the University of Tennessee Special Collections Library recently partnered to create a great new teaching and research tool! We uploaded nearly 25 years of World War II veteran’s interview through the World War II Oral History Project. The collection is available to view at http://digital.lib.utk.edu/collections/wwiioralproject.

CSWS’s Program Coordinator, Cynthia Tinker, Graduate Assistant Ryan Gesme, and Undergraduate Intern Elise Placher conducted an interview with World War II Veteran Mr. David E. Richer. Mr. Richer served in the 65th Division in General Patton’s Third Army.

CSWS Alumnus Jordan Kuck, Ph.D. accepted a position teaching European and World history at West Virginia Wesleyan College. This continues the tradition of sustained excellence shown by the Center’s graduate assistants and undergraduate interns.
