CSWS welcomes Dr. Stephen Fritz
On Thursday, December 4, at 4 p.m., Dr. Stephen Fritz will deliver a talk titled: The Convulsions of Defeat: World War One and Hitler’s Ideology. The presentation will be held in the University of Tennessee’s Humanities Center, Melrose Hall, Room E 102.
Dr. Fritz is a professor of modern European history at East Tennessee State University. His research has investigated a diverse series of topics, including the influenza epidemic of 1918-1919, politics during Germany’s Weimar Republic, the rise of Nazism, and the experiences of the German solider during World War II. He has published several books with the University Press of Kentucky, including Frontsoldaten: The German Soldier during World War II, Endkampf: Soldiers, Civilians, and the Death of the Third Reich, and most recently, Ostkrieg: Hitler’s War of Extermination in the East.
