Center Intern, Gracie Amburn, Wins Award
Gracie Amburn, a friend and intern to the Center for the Study of Tennesseans and War, recently won an award at the Arts & Science Undergraduate Research Symposium (ASUReS) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. This presentation was on your thesis, “The Man Who Never Knew’: The Life, Crime, and Trial of Halder Perry: Exploring the Importance of Nuance and Empathy when Telling Rural Histories.”
This thesis was built on your recent work at the Center. To view this project on our website, see “Challenging Narratives: ‘The Man Who Never Knew: The Story of Halder Perry, a ‘Violent Appalachian,’ and the Power of Perception.”
