CSWS graduate assistant publishes an article

Jordan Kuck, a graduate assistant at CSWS, has an article appearing in the most recent issue of Fascism: The Journal of Comparative Fascist Studies. The article examines the lesser-known authoritarian regime of Karlis Ulmanis, the dictator of Latvia from 1934-1940, including an interesting take on the Latvian version of American 4-H.

Upcoming Nov. 11 talk on Cold War Air Defense

October 31, 2013

At 4:00 p.m. on November 11, Dr. Michael Weaver will give a talk on “Nuclear Air Defense During the Cold War.” A UT grad, Dr. Weaver has published the book “Guard Wars: The 28th Infantry Division in World War II”, and teaches military history and international security to active-duty military officers at the U.S. Air Force Command and Staff College.

On April 18, 2013 in the UC Crest Room, Dr. Wilfred M. McClay will give a talk entitled “The Mirage of Innocence and the Mirror of Guilt: Confronting the Dilemmas of a Postwar Moral Economy.” Dr. McClay is the SunTrust Bank Chair of Excellence in Humanities and a Professor of History at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
