Happy Valley High School Fallen Warriors Military Memoriam (HVHS Website) | Document

Happy Valley High School in Elizabethton, Tennessee, honors its fallen alumni by displaying their names, biographies, and military careers on the school’s website. As of Spring 2026, HVHS is exhibiting these fallen warriors on a display located in the main entrance of the high school. The display features 14 fallen service members who graduated from Happy Valley High School. Students and faculty made the table and signs. Family members of the fallen warriors donated telegrams and letters. In a session of the state legislature, Senator Rusty Crowe and Representative Renea Jones designated the highway in front of the Happy Valley High School in memory of all the school’s fallen alumni. The dedication ceremony was held in May 2026. Click here to read a news article.

Sequoyah High School Veterans Day Biographies:

The Center worked with SQHS Dual Enrollment U.S. History and Contemporary Issues classes to create biographies for their Veteran’s Day event. Students researched a veteran with some affiliation to the school and created biographies on their lives. The students handled primary sources, but have done additional secondary research to support their understanding of their veterans. Most students conducted interviews with living veterans from more modern conflicts, but several students are researching veterans who have passed on. Once edited and finalized, the biographies were added to the Center’s website.
