Morilak Family Donation and Interview

Morilak Family Donation and Interview

March 21, 2024

This week at the Center, we were extremely lucky to receive a visit from the Morilak Family. Major John Morilak served as an aircraft maintenance specialist for the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He served for twenty years, from 1964 to 1984. His daughter, Kat Morilak, followed in her father’s footsteps and joined the Air Force after completing an ROTC program at University of Colorado. Kat was a meteorologist for the Air Force, serving in England, Turkey, and at Global Weather Central before her retirement. The Morilak’s made an extremely generous donation of books, providing some thirty boxes of research materials to add to our collection. They also sat down with Center Director Chris Magra for the Center’s first father-daughter interview, reflecting on their lives and preserving their stories for generations to come. We are so thankful for the Morilaks’ generosity and their service!
