Interview with Nick McCall
It’s always a great day when a veteran comes to the Center for an interview. There are lessons to be learned from these stories if we but listen.
Nick McCall was born and raised in Franklin, Tennessee. He entered the ROTC program at Vanderbilt University near his hometown. Although his father wanted him to become a Marine, and despite the fact that Nick wanted to get into military intelligence, the United States Army had other plans. Nick served as an ordnance officer in the Army from 1983 to 1988. His story underscores the ways in which the Cold War shaped the lives of all those who served in our armed forces during the mid-to-late twentieth century. The staff at the Center were honored to record and preserve Nick’s story.
We will work to lightly edit and upload the interview to our YouTube channel. Please like and follow us there and on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
