Warner Wright Harrison (Sept. 17, 1919 – March 27, 1945) was born in Savannah, Tennessee, and was the nephew of Hardin County Medal of Honor recipient Bolden Rush Harrison, who had received recognition for actions taken in the Philippines with the US Navy in 1912. Warner W. Harrison attended the University of Tennessee for Agriculture in the Class of 1941 before enlisting in the United States Army at the start of the war. Trained as an officer at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, 2nd Lt. Harrison was deployed in the Pacific Theater with the 5th Regiment of the 1st Cavalry Division. He was killed in action on March 27, 1945, in Luzo, Philippines, during the push to retake the Philippines and the capital of Manila from the Japanese Army. He is buried at Fort William McKinley, Philippines.
